Description
The 8-yard kilt is best when it comes to the swing and look of a kilt. It has deeper pleats at the back which gives it the swing. Our kilts, if properly kept and treated, will last a lifetime. They are fully canvas lined around the waist with 3 buckles to ensure an excellent fit. We use 16oz fabric weight unless your fabric option is only woven in 13 oz. All kilts are made in Glasgow, Scotland. Each kilt is machine stitched and hand finished.
There are many options to consider when ordering a kilt and we are hear to answer all those questions for you. It can be overwhelming so having us walk you through the steps is one way to make it stress free.
Pricing listed includes Marton Mills fabric. Lochcarron and Strathmore will add $25 onto the price. The Irish County Tartans and District Tartans woven by House of Edgar will add $45 and House of Edgar Old & Rare Tartans will add $135. We have extensive tartan lists available and can easily advise you who weaves your selection and what options you have for fabric.
Currently kilts are taking 12 to 14 weeks. If you are needing your kilt sooner, please contact us directly to discuss.
In most instances, an 8 yard kilt works for hips measuring up to 46 inches; 9 yards would be 46-52 and 10 would be 52+. If you are in between sizes and want the deeper pleat, then select the extra yardage option. There are options to add buttons inside if you would like to wear suspenders with your kilt.
Not sure which tartans pattern you are needing? or have a name but don’t know if there is a tartan? Then we can certainly answer those questions with a quick call or text to us (619) 435-1880.
Basic measurements needed are waist – taken at the belly button; hip measurement; length taken while kneeling from belly button to floor; and height. We obviously want your kilt to look it’s best and would like to speak to you personally about taking the measurements if you have any questions. We also offer Zoom options if you are not in California.
There are options for payment plans on our kilts with half down at time of ordering and balance due when kilt is completed. If you want to use this option, please contact us directly before placing your order.
